| GamblingPhD menu | Alleged Killer of Online Gambling Mogul Free June 20, 2008 The alleged killer of Adam Anhang was set free by Judge Abelardo Bermudez Torres with no conditions of any kind. Jonathan Roman Rivera is accused of murdering the online gambling mogul, and now he is released to his home in La Perla. Adam Anhan was the former CFO of Dr. Ho and CEO of CWC Gaming, two large online gambling companies. He was out for a walk with his wife in September 2005 when he was stabbed to death, allegedly by Rivera. The case hit the news outlets and everyone was talking about the fact that it was believed to have been tied in to online gambling somehow as the neighborhood they were in is considered a very safe place to be. The victims father, Abraham, said that his estranged wife was involved, but she had not yet been brought up on charges. Instead, a bar employee was arrested on suspicion of murder. Rivera was an employee of the bar owned by Anhangs wife although he claims that he did not know her. The Attorney General said that they will bring the person to justice that is responsible for the slaying, because they have no statute of limitations on murder in Puerto Rico. They have now officially charged his wife with his murder. The Justice Department asked the court to release Roman on bond while they finished investigating the slaying. They said that they have to thoroughly look into the crime before they make a final decision to prosecute. Back to June 2008 Archive. |
