eCOGRA
updates
its
requirements
for
coveted
seal
March
19,
2007
Due
to
highly
anticipated
new
changes
that
the
world’s
number
one
online
gambling
casino
watchdog
is
making
to
its
seal
requirements,
many
more
online
casino
and
poker
room
operators
will
soon
qualify
for
affiliation
with
the
gaming
regulator.
The
eCommerce
and
Online
Gambling
Regulation
and
Assurance
(eCOGRA),
has
made
some
interesting
changes
that
we
want
to
report
to
our
online
gambling
news
readers
today.
The
main
change
being
reported
earlier
this
week
means
that
online
gambling
software
providers
of
interested
operators
will
no
longer
need
to
be
members
of
eCOGRA.
However,
there
will
be
no
decrease
in
the
examination
and
monitoring
levels
necessary
in
order
to
display
the
esteemed
Play
It
Safe
seal,
awarded
to
online
casinos
by
the
watchdog.
The
organization
is
reporting
in a
press
release
from
earlier
this
week
that
it
has
seen
a
vast
amount
of
interest
from
casino
operators
who
are
not
using
its
offered
members'
gaming
software.
Previously,
this
was
a
major
precondition
to
obtaining
a
seal
from
the
organization.
With
the
new
provision,
all
operators
who
apply
for
an
eCOGRA
seal
will
be
permitted.
This
is
considered
a
time
when
it
is
essential
that
the
online
gambling
industry
shows
accountability
for
online
casino
game
players
and
shows
enhanced
operational
standards.
With
all
the
laws
changes
going
on
concerning
online
gambling,
we
are
pleased
to
see
this
organization
standing
up
to
make
changes
quickly
too.
Starting
earlier
this
week,
eCOGRA
began
to
offer
casinos
entry
to
apply
for
the
seal
even
if
they
use
software
provided
by
non
eCOGRA
members.
The
idea
here
is
that
this
change
will
create
a
chance
for
many
more
online
casinos
with
solid
standings
and
proven
historical
reputability.
Now,
online
gambling
casinos
will
also
be
able
to
issue
eCOGRA's
Total
Gaming
Transaction
Reports
for
fairness
of
payout
percentages
on
their
sites.
This
will
include
card
shuffling
and
RNG
performance.
These
sites
will
also
have
additional
access
to
other
programs
as
well
that
are
endorsed
by
the
well
known
organization
such
as
the
eCOGRA
Fair
Gaming
Advocate
dispute
customer
service.
All
new
online
casinos
interested
in
this
update
and
access
will
still
be
subject
to
the
same
detailed
on
site
monitoring
procedures
to
make
certain
they
are
in
compliance
with
eCOGRA
standards.
Even
so,
at
this
point,
the
seal
award
will
be
provisional
upon
eCOGRA's
well
planned
satisfaction.
In
the
day
and
age
when
we
see
so
many
online
gambling
sites
pooping
onto
the
Internet
scene,
we
need
to
be
sure
that
we
are
getting
the
best
of
the
best
and
that
some
independent
organization
is
watching
out
for
us
as
the
player.
This
is
just
the
solution
we
will
find
extremely
helpful
now
and
in
the
future
of
online
casino
gambling.
The
best
part
is
that
this
new
change
will
not
compromise
the
organizations
standards
whatsoever,
but
it
will
make
the
organization’s
help
available
to
many
more
gaming
sites
online.
Thus,
players
will
have
better
gaming.
