Basic facts

When you play this game, you will see a dealer. There is shoe from which the cards are dealt that contains about six decks. You start by placing your bet. Depending on your online gambling site or land casino, the typical starting wager is $5. Some online casinos have $1 bets available. The dealer then exposes 2 cards by dealing them faced up in front of his or her position. This is typically right in the center where all casino players at the table can see. Then, the question is – will the next card dealt from the shoe fall between the values of the 2 exposed cards laid out on the table.

In this game, aces are always high. Some people who play or played this game at home during their poker nights would allow you to choose whether you wanted your ace to count as the lowest card (a one) or the highest card. Not so in Red Dog at online gambling sites and in casinos around the world.

Also in this game, suits have no meaning, so it makes absolutely no difference whether your cards are clubs, diamonds or whatever.

If there is no spread between the first 2 cards, there is an automatic tie. So, if the two cards should be an 8 and a 9 (or any other no spread combo), there is a tie. A new round then begins.

If the spread is at least one card, you have the decision to make prior to the dealer exposing the 3^rd card. You can leave your wager as it is, or you can double it. This is when the game gets really fun.

There are only 2 real decisions you make in this online casino game. First, you decide on the size of your original wager (with table limits). Second, after you see the result of the spread, you figure out whether you want to stay at the original wager or double it. Seems easy enough fro any online gambling fan out there right?

When the first 2 cards that are exposed are the same card (two 2s or any other same cards), you are not able to double your wager. Never mind that, because if it does happen you can’t lose. Say the first 2 cards are a pair of jacks, the dealer will dispense a 3^rd card from the shoe to see if a 3^rd jack will appear. If a 3^rd jack does not show, you have a tie. If the 3^rd card is another jack, you get paid 11 to 1. Sound pretty cool doesn’t it? Well, if you think about the odds of this happening from a shoe filled with 6 deck of cards – you should get paid 24 to 1 darn it. After all, based on 6 decks of cards – there are 24 of each card in the shoe!

This game is fun, but the odds are not the best. The online gambling site will not pay you what you truly deserve based on the true odds, but that is why casinos make more money right?
