Galaxy
Considering
Online
Gambling
March
5,
2008
It
is
rumored
that
Galaxy
Entertainment
Group
is
entertaining
the
idea
of
moving
into
online
gambling
and
legalizing
it
in
Macau.
The
Macau
Daily
Times
says
that
they
are
already
making
their
move
to
make
it
so,
and
other
sources
are
suggesting
that
there
are
very
few
steps
left
to
take
–
that
they
have
been
working
on
this
for
some
time.
It
is
not
known
for
sure
if
they
are
or
not,
but
according
to
Francis
Lui,
the
Deputy
Chairman
of
the
Macau
concession
holder
said
that
the
company
was
aware
of
what
a
large
opportunity
this
was
for
them
and
that
they
were
truly
interested
in
having
it
be a
part
of
their
future.
Supposedly
they
have
already
started
a
foundation
with
an
internet
café
operator
in
China
and
are
moving
forward
with
the
online
gambling
interest.
As
most
forms
of
gambling
are
illegal
in
the
Mainland,
including
online
gambling,
it
will
prove
interesting
to
see
where
this
goes
from
here.
Most
Asian
online
casino
players
like
to
pay
in
person
–
they
don’t
feel
that
the
internet
is
safe.
Therefore,
the
café
is
the
perfect
way
for
them
to
purchase
online
credits
and
play
online
without
the
fear
of
giving
out
their
information
online.
There
had
been
talk
last
week
of
other
companies
looking
to
make
online
gambling
legal
in
the
Mainland,
but
nothing
so
far
has
shown
us
that
this
is
in
fact
the
truth.
Mr.
Lui
maintains
that
the
online
gambling
market
is
going
to
open
at
any
time,
and
that
companies
are
going
to
want
to
be
on
the
ground
floor
–
just
as
Galaxy
will
be.
