No Online Gambling for
Military

You think about our
military and what it must take to keep yourself occupied those times
that you are not on patrol or fighting to save your life or that of the
guy next to you. Perhaps you picture them playing cards, or watching
movies, or playing football – after all this is what the movies and
media like it to look like – a kind of summer camp for men that just
happens to last a couple of years.
But when our service men and women are not fighting, they are looking
for something – anything – to take your mind off of the fact that you
are at war. That at any time you could be expected to pick up your gun
and kill someone if need be. Some of these service personnel turn to
gambling to kill the time. They say that it is fun and a great way to
pass the time – and perhaps win a little extra money to send home in the
meantime. However, if they are going to gamble – they need to make sure
that it is not online gambling.
The Pentagon has recently given permission for active personnel to use
the internet and social sites like Twitter and Facebook so that they can
keep contact with their loved ones at home. This makes it much easier
for them to write to their families instead of waiting for a letter to
come from home. But the personnel have also been told that no online
gambling will be permitted. Even if they are in a country that allows
online gambling, they are not allowed to participate in it.
In fact, online gambling had become so incredibly popular among military
personnel that the government has been working on the various bans for
its usage for a while now. They said that it was imperative that their
soldiers do not play at online gambling, although many believe that
there are many who still will.
