Social Networking and
Online Gambling

It would seem that online
gambling and social networking would really go hand in hand. After all,
all you have to do is look at a site like Facebook and see how addicted
their players are to the various games that are out there. These people
are playing with their farms, their mafia, their fish, etc. – so why
wouldn’t they want to gamble? It is not the first time that this
question has been asked – so what seems to be the hold up.
Even if you are starting a new online gambling site now – you have to
realize the ramifications and implications of adding in a social
networking part with it. Not only would your clients be free to
participate in online gambling, but they would be able to converse and
hang out with their friends at the same time. It could only increase the
number of players that the online gambling site would get – especially
if they are talking to people that they know.
Right now according to a recent survey, 50% of all of the online
gambling Tweets that are out there are for people who are trying to get
other people to come to a particular online gambling site. However, it
does not really seem to be working. It is impossible to find out how
many of those people that are going to the online gambling sites are
actually listening to the Tweets of other sites. But the online gambling
sites are looking at it the wrong way. They are seeing it as simply a
way for people to talk to each other if they are gambling.
They need to be looking at it as a marketing tool. If you have a social
network that is tied into an online gambling site and you invite your
friends they are most likely going to play at the same site with you
because you can talk about the games. Then you have those people
informing their friends, and so on – until you truly have online
gambling networking.
