Online
Gambling
Boards
Gone
May
9,
2008
It
may
seem
like
a
small
thing,
but
it
really
isn’t.
The
fact
is
that
many
look
to
them
to
get
their
information
on a
daily
or
weekly
basis,
and
the
fact
that
they
are
no
longer
available
for
the
most
part
is
disconcerting.
Of
course
I
speak
of
the
online
gambling
boards.
They
have
been
instrumental
in
processing
the
information
that
has
come
down
the
pike
from
the
beginning
up
until
now,
and
as
fewer
boards
are
being
updated
less
information
is
being
disseminated
to
the
public.
Those
days
when
online
gambling
first
got
started,
people
would
turn
to
the
boards
to
find
out
what
new
online
casinos
there
were,
how
you
played,
what
the
tips
and
tricks
were,
etc.
Now,
it
is
completely
different.
Many
online
gambling
boards
are
still
out
there,
but
they
have
not
been
updated
in
months.
The
information
on
most
of
them
is
stale
at
best,
and
if
you
need
help
from
your
favorite
forum
chances
are
you
are
out
of
luck.
Traffic
monitors
such
as
Alexa
are
reporting
a
downward
trend
for
those
forums
in
the
web
traffic
and
in
those
that
search
for
such
postings
of
information.
Some
of
the
online
gambling
traffic
would
have
slowed
at
certain
times
over
the
course
of
the
year
anyway
with
seasonal
changes,
but
not
as
drastic
a
change
as
they
have
seen.
For
the
past
two
years,
the
number
of
active
forum
users
has
declined,
and
as
they
decline
so
does
the
advertising
dollars
which
makes
it
harder
for
the
sites
to
even
stay
updated
and
on
the
web.
Experts
say
that
it
can
undoubtedly
be
traced
to
the
UIGEA.
