Kyl
Pushing
for
Online
Gambling
Ban
May

2008
When
you
see
a
sinking
ship
do
you
jump
in
it,
or
out
of
it?
This
is a
question
many
have
been
asking
in
regards
to
Senator
Jon
Kyl.
As
more
people
pull
away
from
the
online
gambling
bill
to
stop
the
processing
of
payments
to
online
casinos
–
Kyl
is
running
towards
it –
publicly
touting
his
support
for
the
Unlawful
Internet
Gambling
Enforcement
Act,
or
UIGEA.
As
others
move
towards
defeating
the
online
gambling
bill,
Kyl
continues
to
move
forward
and
announce
to
anyone
who
will
listen
why
he
supports
the
ban
on
online
gambling.
However,
that
is
not
to
say
that
he
doesn’t
have
problems
with
the
bill.
In
fact,
he
does.
He
thinks
that
the
government
has
been
too
slow
in
enforcing
the
online
gambling
ban
and
wants
efforts
stepped
up.
He
says
that
the
government
and
the
Federal
Reserve
have
not
acted
expeditiously
enough
to
get
the
ban
on
online
casinos
and
gambling
in
place
and
enforceable.
He
says
that
the
UIGEA
is
fine
the
way
it
is
except
for
the
time
frame.
Even
though
the
public
has
said
that
they
would
rather
see
the
bill
that
Barney
Frank
and
Ron
Paul
have
been
pushing
to
get
passed
that
would
regulate
online
gambling,
Kyl
has
remained
steadfast
in
his
lack
of
support
for
the
bill.
Experts
say
that
Kyl
may
continue
to
try
and
get
online
gambling
banned
in
the
name
of
those
that
cannot
protect
themselves
from
the
addiction
of
it,
he
will
assuredly
not
be
successful
in
his
undertaking.
The
problem
is
lack
of
desire
from
the
American
people
and
the
inability
to
have
a
law
enforcement
department
that
can
watch
and
prosecute
those
that
have
violated
it.
