MyLotto Just Isn�t Enough

New Zealand is launching a new online sales channel and they are calling it MyLotto. However, many do not expect it to succeed.

The online gambling site was supposed to be launched in March, according to documents released under Official Information Act, and the lottery has not yet confirmed an actual date for launch. However, once it is launched, players will be able to purchase tickets for Lotto, Powerball, Strike, Keno and Big Wednesday.

But a recently released Cabinet paper shows that their government does not have much faith in their ability to do well at this. They don�t think that they will be able to sell enough �scratchies� on the site.

The online gambling site could prove them wrong, but they aren�t expecting it to. They think that they will not do much to boost the decline that they have been experiencing in lottery sales. However, they say that if they were allowed to offer �more exciting� games for online gambling, they would probably do much better.

But those against any online gambling say that to offer more than what they are already offering would be a mistake. They say that the potential for harm way outweighs the risk that would come from offering the games.

They say that the NZ Lottery keeps claiming that New Zealanders were patronizing overseas lotteries, yet there is no substantial proof or evidence of this � so they just don�t see it has being a problem at all.
