Online Gambling Site Wants to Sponsor

An online gambling company from Asia would love to get their hands on a sponsorship spot, but the company that actually holds the title is not willing to give it up. CommsDirect has the spot that is so coveted, and even though they have been offered good money, they aren�t budging from the spot.

The FA Cup Final is tomorrow, and when the players get out onto that field, everyone wants to see their company�s name on the black strip on the back of their shirt. However, CommsDirect has the spot on the back of Cardiff City and they aren�t giving it up for any amount of money.

An online gambling company based in the Far East offered them �500k to give up the spot so that they could have their name on there instead, but the company refused. The company is a third generation mobile phone contract reselling business.

They had the contract and literally days after Cardiff got the semi-final victory the online gambling site approached them through an intermediary. However, with more than 500 million people watching and fans in more than 200 countries they declined.

They say that they discussed the online gambling company�s offer but chose to keep the spot as the fans would expect it to be there, plus they don�t see another opportunity for people to see their name in such a wide audience. Interestingly enough, after the game their two year sponsorship ends.
