| GamblingPhD menu | Ladbrokes has Focus on Online Gambling May 22, 2009 Ladbrokes has long had a history with both their live betting shops and their online gambling sites. They have recently seen a drop in the revenues from their land based sites though, and have decided to change their focus. They have long thought of their online gambling sites as their secondary form of revenue, but the amount of money that they are getting in from them is quickly surpassing their land based sites. They say that they have made some errors in promotions from the land based sites, and over the past four months they have seen their revenue drop. This then caused their payouts to drop, which caused players to start looking elsewhere for their larger payouts. However, the company says that they may have been looking at this the wrong way and have now decided to change that. They are going to put the majority of their focus on their online gambling sites as they say that this is where their money is going to come in. They say that because of the slowing growth at their betting shops which is usually their bigger profit generator, they are going to have to switch tactics and start working on their online gambling revenues instead. They say that even though their land based shops are doing better than they were, they are not capable of bringing in what they used to until the economy changes. However, their online gambling sites are not only bringing in more money than before, they cost a lot less to keep up and running. Back to May 09 Archive. |
