Online Gambling Increasing Worldwide

According to a recent study, the number of people participating in online gambling has increased across the board. All countries that allow legalized online gambling say that they have definitely seen an increase in the number of people who are playing, and those that don�t say that they might not have official numbers but they are aware that there has been an increase.

The United Kingdom says that last year they showed 7.8% of residents say that they have participated in online gambling; this year that number was 8.2%. They say that they have hit their highest level in more than four years.

Experts say that they believe that a large reason for the increase in online gambling is because many countries now see the revenue stream that can come from allowing online gambling. They say that even as countries try to make it illegal, players are signing up in droves to participate. They feel that this is a big reason why the US is now looking to overturn the UIGEA as they see the financial benefits that could come from allowing, regulating, and taxing the online gambling industry.

Lawmakers in the United States say that they are fully aware that online gambling has increased since it was made illegal in 2006. They say that for many people it was simply a matter of continuing to do what they had already been doing, but for some it was a case of participating simply because they had been told they could not. Online gambling is a great way for countries to bring in much needed revenue in this economy, so it is no wonder that so many are looking at legalization. But it is also infinitely cheaper to go to an online casino than it is to go to a live one, which is why many players have now turned to it.
