| GamblingPhD menu | Online Gambling Linked to Case November 30, 2008 The online gambling mogul Ruth Parasol has been dragged into the case better known as the Suitcase-Gate Trial. The case is about many things, but one of the more interesting aspects is that the plane that was used to fly Guido Antonini Wilson and his cash-stuffed suitcase around South America is owned by none other than the online gambling superstar Parasol. Parasol has been living in exile in Gibraltar, and is the owner of the popular online gambling site PartyPoker.com. She was just recently in the news with the discovery that she had hired Hunter Biden to lobby on behalf of online gambling. Biden, of course, is the son of Vice President Elect Joseph Biden. Biden pulled out of lobbying for online gambling when his father announced he was running for VP. Parasol is known for her secrecy running a large online gambling conglomerate while living in Gibraltar to escape persecution by the US government. She is regularly on Forbes top billionaires list with a fortune around $2 billion from her online gambling site. She is also the 79th richest woman in Great Britain. Originally known as a porn princess, Parasol was given her first foray into the online world by two porn sites her father had given her. She made millions off of the porn sites before switching her interests to online gambling. The online gambling site that she owns is easily one of the worlds biggest sites. The site is valued at more than $9 billion which makes it worth twice as much as British Airways. |
