| GamblingPhD menu | Voting Against McCain November 5, 2008 Online gambling is in no way restricted or limited to the online casinos or sporting events. No, you can pretty much bet on anything you want these days, including political races. The online gambling community has its latest gambling experience, and this time it is whether or not to bet on John McCain or Barack Obama. If the internet is any way of measuring who our next president will be, then McCain does not stand a chance. The newspapers and pundits are all saying who they think is going to win, but online gambling numbers show that those who bet online are betting on Obama. Online casinos, sports bookmakers, futures traders they all have one thing in common: the fact that they think McCain will lose. They say that online gambling sites are betting that a Democrat will be the next one in office, no matter what. As McCain continues on the campaign trail calling about the problems that face the US with an Obama victory, online gambling sites say that it is all but a done deal. They say that online gambling players have already chosen their winner and it will be President Barack Obama. But part of the problem is that online gambling ill most likely be legalized if there is a President Obama, and will stay illegal if McCain gets in there instead. This is not a risk that they are willing to take. They are placing their bets and their votes in the hopes that Obama takes the crown, and they can start gambling legally again.
