More Online Gambling Bans
November 29, 2009
The online gambling community is upset about one more ban that has been thrown in front of them. The European Commission and the European Union are both looking to try and get more countries to remove their online gambling bans, yet every time they turn around it seems that someone else is trying to put one back up.
The EU and the EC just want to see everyone in Europe get along, and one of the ways of doing that is to have them all allow online gambling across their borders. So many of the countries are trying to keep a monopoly on their online gambling, but this only hurts the smaller countries that cannot compete. With Poland the latest one to put forth an online gambling ban, many other smaller countries realize that it has just gotten harder for them to keep their industry running.
The larger countries say that everyone should have an online gambling ban, and that they are in support of everyone keeping it to themselves. However, they say this because they know that they have a large contingency within their borders that will be able to support an online gambling ban, whereas a smaller country will not be able to compete with the larger numbers.
Russia, India, Israel, the United States, etc., the list goes on and on of countries that allow gambling within their borders but do not allow online gambling to cross their country lines. This monopoly only serves to keep them richer and the smaller countries poorer.
