Online Poker Means Money for Government

Online gambling includes online poker, which you would think is a fairly clear idea. However, this is not clear to many people. When you say online gambling for some reason just slot machines and other games come to mind, but this is limited in its scope. Many of those playing at online gambling are poker players, and they amount for a large chunk of the revenue that comes to these online gambling sites.
In fact, online poker has become so popular that many of your biggest poker events now have online qualifiers for their players, and you would be amazed at the prizes being given away at the online poker tournaments. Poker playing is fully integrated into online gambling, which is something they wish people would not only understand but would embrace.
The Poker Players’ Alliance is determined to see online gambling legalized again. They say that not only should poker playing not even be lumped into the same category as online gambling, but that the legalization of the game is not up to the government. They maintain that you cannot tell someone that they cannot participate in online gambling in the comfort of their own home any more than you can tell someone what they can eat. They argue that this is an infringement on their basic rights, and many agree with them.
The PPA also says that the online gambling bill should not include poker as poker is not a gamble. They argue that online gambling should be restricted to those games that are luck based – which poker is not. They argue that poker playing is a game of skill and therefore should not be included in any bill that references online gambling as they are two separate entities.
