What is the Reality of Online Gambling?

If you are looking to gamble, you can find pretty much anything out there to gamble on. There are of course tons of sports that are consistently running – football, baseball, tennis, soccer, badminton – ok, maybe not that last one – so there is always something to choose from. However, according to a recent study, the people who participate in online gambling for these various sports are more often than not – men.
This should not really come as a surprise, as women are more likely to participate in slot machines or blackjack when playing at online gambling. They are not, as a rule, trying to figure out which team is better than another – because they just don’t care. But one area where women do dominate in online gambling is in novelty betting.
Novelty betting is the act of betting on pretty much everything but sports. Want to bet on who is going to win Survivor? How about Celebrity Big Brother? They are even betting on things like who the threesome is going to be on Gossip Girl. Novelty betting seems to be the latest online gambling craze and women are the fastest growing part of their population.
While men are participating in online gambling via sports betting, women are betting each other on a host of other things – and reality television is just one small part of it. They are finding that not only are females more likely than males to participate in this form of online gambling, but that it is younger females more than older ones that are trying it out.
