UK Making Strides in Online Gambling
November 28, 2009
Online gambling is a tough market to be in these days. It makes a ton of money, but if you offer it to the wrong person you can get yourself in a whole lot of trouble. This is why so many of the online gambling sites have chosen not to get involved in any country at all that is having any sort of issue with online gambling. It is also why so many countries are hesitant about offering online gambling to their residents as they know that there are lots of pitfalls ahead of them for allowing them to do so.
The Untied Kingdom has long fallen into that category. They don’t necessarily want o rock the boat, but they don’t really want to be involved in online gambling either. However, it looks as though they are starting to make some real headway in the online gambling arena. According to a recent report by the Financial Times, the online gambling companies are preparing for consolidation over the next two years.
This would mean that they are anticipating that there is a chance that the pace of online gambling penetration will have changed significantly. They believe that there will be many more governments out there that have decided to allow online gambling – in fact so many that they are working to get their foot in the door now in the hopes that this actually comes true.
One big jump is the headway that has been made in the United States. They are aware that there are many within the country that are working to see online gambling legalized, and if it is they could be privy to a billion dollar industry if they are ready to move on it.
