AC
sit-in to draw thousands
October 8
In Atlantic City, as many
as
5,000 casino and hotel
employees along with their
supporters, were planning a
demonstration today at an
unidentified location near
Boardwalk Hall.
Local 54
members are planning to
assemble at 4 p.m. at the
Hall, then they plan to walk
to the unnamed spot for the
sit-in, where some
volunteers of the union will
physically sit hand in hand,
until police arrest them.
Thousands of others
are
expected to walk off their
picket lines at the seven
casinos to unite with the
march and demonstration.
The strike has been going on
for the last week in
Atlantic City and has been
widely follows by the media.
Demonstrators say that they
will do whatever it takes to
get their strong message
across to the casinos
involved.
The demonstration is set to
take place in a key part of town
that is sure to cause delays in
traffic to and from the casinos,
even the few that are not
involved.
