Britons are regular
internet gamblers
October 22
According to research done
from Nielson Net Ratings,
more than 4 million people
living in the UK use the
Internet for
online gambling
on a
regular basis.
The
most popular site being
National Lottery, sees an
average of 1.4 million
Internet gamblers during any
given month. Other top sites
include the ever-popular
William Hill and Ladbrokes.
In the UK, there is now a
new government bill that
will require Internet
gambling websites in that
country to process a proof
of age..
Gambling
sites are still dedicated to
attracting new clientele,
and the polling conducted by
Nielson established
that those who actively
increased their advertising
online, made it into the top
ten sites visited, which
means the ads were working.
The
amount of time gamblers
spent at Internet gambling
sites ranged back and forth
depending on the type of
gambling site that was
visited. Ladbrokes and The
National Lottery kept their
visitors for an average of
35 and 17 minutes
respectively. But the
typical amount of time spent
on Casino Tropez was just
about one minute.
Additionally, t he
report found that just about
70% of Internet gamblers are
still men, but the average
percent of women using the
Internet to gamble is on the
rise.
Online
gambling is anticipated to
become even more popular in
the months and years to
come. In the US, gambling in
general, is extremely
popular.
Over
16% of the people living in
the UK visit Internet
gambling sites each month.
With this in mind, it is
quite evident that some of
these people have introduced
gambling sites as part of
their everyday Internet
usage, and we are most
likely to see this current
trend sky-rocket.
