New Technology
helps cheaters find ways to scam
slots
October 6
S
lot
machines that don't use coins
use the technology that has
revolutionized slot play, but
they have also created a new
problem, it seems that cheaters
have found ways to hack the
system.
Panelists
discussing slot and table game
cheating at Tuesday's Global
Gaming Expo convention and trade
show at the Las Vegas Convention
Center all agreed that as fast
as technology is made available
to speed play or make gaming
more enticing to players,
dishonest players will find new
ways to manipulate the system,
most often resulting in lost
income for casinos.
As expected, t
he
convention has attracted over
25,000 people to Las Vegas to
see new products and hear
speakers discuss a massive
amount of issues related to the
gaming industry. .
With
systems that use tickets and not
coins, it is said that there has
been an expanding amount of
scams to cash photo copies of
tickets generated by slot
machines. It is also noted that
it is vital that cashiers
immediately validate tickets
that are brought for payment,
this way a copy is not cashed in
and the original ticket replayed
in the slot machine.
This type of
scam has been noticed and foiled
at some casinos during check
points or audits of the system.
