In South Carolina, within
one week after a judge ruled
a ban Georgetown County of
casino boats was
unconstitutional, a well
known video gambling
operative has announced
that he plans to bring a
gambling boat near
Georgetown. Also, the
gambling boat operative who
sued Georgetown in the first
place, announced his desire
to start a casino boat.
Collins Entertainment
owner, Fred Collins, who
also owns a large gambling
boat, has written a letter
to Georgetown County
expressing his interest in
running casino cruises. At
this time, it is not
detailed where and when the
cruises would run, or where
the boat would be docked.
Last week, Circuit Judge
Jackson Gregory ruled that a
county ban on such a
business was
unconstitutional, giving way
for additional boats to deem
the county as a place to
develop casino boats.
Judge Gregory stated that
the county couldn't ban the
casino boats, simply because
the state of South Carolina
itself has no ban on such
boats.
