Online gambling enthusiasts are learning about a great new deal in the works for online casino game-play. Harrah's Entertainment has inked a deal with America Online (AOL) to form an Internet home for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) that will feature free-play poker rooms, event updates and more in an endeavor to widen the poker playing audience.
Additionally, t he new deal between Harrah's and AOL will allow 12 (of age) poker fans/players, to win a free seat at the $10,000 buy-in No limit Texas Hold'em world championship poker event at either the 2006 or 2007 WSOP. Not bad for online gambling players at all.
With the new partnership AOL becomes the exclusive online collaborator for the WSOP. You will not have to be an AOL member to be able to access the WSOP contents through AOL.com.
After the deal get put into action , the AOL World Series of Poker site will provide free-play poker games for poker players of all levels of game skill. There will even be private poker rooms, tourneys and behind-the-scenes info regarding the events. The WSOP hosts a circuit tour with events at Harrah's casinos throughout the US.
This year, the WSOP produced over 30,000 poker players at 45 different events with a record prize pool of $103 million. The actual world championship poker event produced 5,619 poker players looking to win their share of $52 million.
AOL will have the only free-play Internet poker game offering in the US.
The huge popularity spike for online poker playing in the last year, whether playing for free or not, is said to be a main reason for this new endeavor.
