In Biloxi
, Mississippi, the road to casino gambling recovery is going to be a long a winding road, but online gambling enthusiasts are learning that the community that was struck by a massive hurricane is rallying to fix its own. In fact, casino employees are now construction workers. At least until the casino is up and running again.
Yes, people who normally make their living serving cocktails or dealing cards are now swinging hammers and more. Many casino employees in need of continuing work are now getting certified in many different aspects of construction in efforts to get the dice rolling again.
Casino Magic Biloxi is not only keeping its employees around until they can work inside a casino again, they are training them to help build the casino back to its glory. The casino's parent company, Pinnacle Entertainment, is providing construction jobs to the casino employees through its contractor, Manhattan Construction Co. This is the same company that built Pinnacle's newest property, the $365 million L'Auberge du Lac Hotel and Casino in Lake Charles.
Casino Magic Biloxi was ruined when the storm surge Hurricane Katrina picked the casino built on a barge up and sailed at straight over the highway along the Mississippi coast. Needless to say, the gambling facility is in dire need of major repair.
Unfortunately, online gambling fans are also now understanding that this type of construction is taking a lot longer than it would if they were building it from scratch. Rebuilding takes much longer that new construction. We wish them all Godspeed.
