If this stunning story doesn't
warm the heart of every online gambling enthusiast,
we are not sure what will - other than a person win
at an online casino. For weeks now, we have been
watching the news and learning about so many
personal tragedies that have spawned from the recent
hurricanes in the US. Many of us have even been
playing online casino tournaments were proceeds go
to Katrina relief funds. Now, we have learned about
one good thing.
Yesterday, a Hurricane Katrina
victim who lives in New Orleans who spent just $4.25
in a slot machine got a huge payment back on her
investment. She won a $1.6 million jackpot.
While on her way to a store,
Jacqueline Sherman decided to stop in at
Louisiana's Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino on a
whim. She admits to being a casino enthusiast for
sure. She even says that gambling actually sooths
her nerves.
Since she was evacuated from
the hurricane that destroyed her home, she had been
sleeping on her sister's floor in Opelousas,
Louisiana. Not the best place for someone to have to
sleep, but it was something - a place to rest.
In just over a month from the
day her life, and so many others changed, she came
out of a casino with a staggering $1.6 million
dollars to her name.
At this time it is not sure
exactly what she plans to do with her new riches.
Good for you Jacqueline
Sherman!
