Loses
Injunction
Against
Bodog
October
19,
2007
1st
Technology
LLC
has
been
fighting
Bodog
in
the
courts
to
attempt
to
get
almost
$49
million
from
the
online
gambling
company.
However,
they
just
lost
their
latest
attempt
to
get
money
from
the
online
gambling
company.
It
has
only
been
about
seven
weeks
since
the
Bodog
company
lost
control
of
their
previous
domain
names,
and
changed
first
to
BodogLife.com
and
then
NewBodog.com.
1st
Technology
was
attempting
to
stop
all
of
their
sites
from
functioning
at
all,
and
asked
for
a
permanent
injunction
against
the
company.
Bodog’s
legal
team
challenged
their
attempt
and
was
successful.
The
U.S.
District
Court
of
the
District
of
Nevada
denied
the
injunction
request
against
the
online
gambling
company,
as
was
their
recent
“emergency”
request
to
stop
BodogLife.com
from
getting
any
redirected
traffic
from
the
site.
The
court
found
their
motions
faulty
and
requested
inappropriate
relief.
As
Bodog
does
not
have
the
legal
ability
to
affect
the
relief
which
the
plaintiff
was
seeking,
the
motions
were
unnecessary.
Calvin
Ayre,
Bodog
Founder,
says
that
they
sued
Bodog
Entertainment
which
doesn’t
provide
online
gambling
services,
and
does
not,
nor
has
it
ever,
operate
or
own
the
websites.
It
was
a
completely
third
entity
and
was
already
shut
down.
They
were
attempting
to
get
their
names
back
from
the
company
when
they
were
hijacked
by
1st
Technology.
They
call
the
company
a
“patent
troll”
and
says
that
they
are
simply
trying
to
benefit
off
of
his
company’s
hard
work,
and
they
are
confident
that
in
the
end
they
will
end
up
triumphant
over
the
company.
They
are
appealing
the
default
judgment
against
them
that
was
issued
previously
and
no
matter
how
it
“unfolds”
they
won’t
lose
a
dime
because
of
the
way
the
online
gambling
company
has
been
structured.
