Betfair
Takes
Top
Honors
at
eGaming
Awards
October
7,
2007
The
third
annual
eGaming
Awards
were
held
at
the
National
History
Museum
in
London
last
Friday
night,
and
the
online
gambling
group
Betfair
was
fortunate
enough
to
take
the
top
prize
of
Operator
of
the
Year.
This
is
an
annual
event
for
the
online
gambling
industry,
and
the
location
was
a
veritable
who’s
who
in
the
online
casino
world.
eGaming
sponsors
the
awards,
and
in
addition
to
Betfair
getting
the
top
prize,
there
was
also
Casino
Operator
of
the
Year,
which
went
to
888;
European
Sportsbook
of
the
Year,
which
went
to
Sportingbet;
and
Poker
Operator
of
the
Year,
which
went
to
Everest
Poker.
In
addition
to
all
of
that,
there
was
the
awarding
of
the
Outstanding
Contribution
Award
to
the
industry,
and
it
went
to
Mark
Blandford,
who
was
Chairman
of
this
year’s
judge’s
panel.
The
company
said
that
the
number
and
quality
of
the
competitors
for
the
online
gambling
awards
had
been
the
best
yet,
and
that
they
were
proud
and
excited
to
be
among
the
company
of
those
represented.
They
said
that
Blandford’s
award
was
well
deserved
as
he
has
taken
Sportingbet
to
new
heights
and
that
he
knows
more
about
the
online
gambling
industry
than
many
experts
combined.
They
also
gave
out
awards
for
many
other
positions
within
the
industry,
such
as
Innovation
of
the
Year
to
Sky
Bet,
which
also
took
Green
Operator
of
the
Year.
888
also
took
Land-links
Partnership
of
the
Year
and
Bingo
Operator
of
the
Year
went
to
JackpotJoy.
Everest
Poker
also
took

Operator
of
the
Year,
and
there
was

Responsible
Operator
of
the
Year
which
went
to

Spel

addition
to
many
other
awards
that
were
given
out
that
evening.
