888
Online
Casino
Showing
Positive
September
29,
2007
The
online
casino
888
Holdings
PLC
has
just
released
their
financial
results
from
the
first
half
of
the
current
calendar
year,
and
they
say
that
things
are
looking
positive
so
far,
and
they
expect
it
to
continue
for
the
remainder
of
the
year.
The
online
casino
is
also
talking
about
other
acquisitions
that
they
might
want
to
get
into
since
they
are
showing
such
positive
results.
The
company
is
reporting
that
their
net
online
gambling
revenue
is
up
24%,
their
profit
pre-tax
is
up
298%,
and
their
operating
expenses
are
down.
Their
online
casino
Pacific
Poker
is
showing
22%
increase
in
online
casino
revenue
and
poker
alone
showing
an
increase
of
19%.
They
believe
that
this
continued
growth
will
carry
them
throughout
the
remainder
of
the
year,
even
though
there
had
been
some
speculation
that
losing
their
US
customer
base
after
the
passing
of
the
UIGEA
would
significantly
hurt
the
online
casino.
Financial
figures
show
that
this
is
not
the
case.
The
online
casino
company
has
expanded
the
games
they
offer,
and
has
made
deals
with
other
casino
companies
such
as
Tower
Touneos
in
Latin
America
and
Riley’s
Snooker
Halls
in
the
UK
to
help
build
their
consumer
base.
The
companies
will
use
888’s
platforms
and
operational
capabilities.
The
company
says
that
making
deals
like
this
will
only
ensure
their
continued
success
within
the
online
casino
industry,
and
help
them
to
continue
to
grow
as
they
seek
out
other
strategic
alliances
throughout
the
world.
They
say
that
with
the
passing
of
the
UIGEA
they
had
to
change
the
way
they
viewed
themselves,
and
it
has
worked
out
well
for
them.
