Another suit filed by
Shuffle
Master
October 6
In the
third patent rights suit filed
in three months by Shuffle
Master Inc., it accuses a
competitor, and long time
rival of stealing its
intellectual property rights on
a shuffling machine.
Shuffle Master, based out of
Las Vegas,
filed suit Tuesday in U.S.
District Court in Las Vegas
against VendingData Corp., also
based in Las Vegas. Shuffle
Master already has a 2002 suit
pending against VendingData,
based on the company's marketing
of its Random Ejection shuffling
machine. The new lawsuit was
prompted by VendingData's
selling of the shuffler in the
United States.
At press time, r
epresentatives of VendingData
were not reachable for
comment.
In July,
Shuffle Master filed similar
suits against MP Games LLC,
working as MindPlay Games, and
MindPlay owner Alliance Gaming
Corp., working as Bally
Gaming and Systems.
Alliance
stated the suit is without
merit and that it would
vigorously defend
itself in court where justice
would be served.
